Install Kodi on Amazon FireTV – Updated for 2016 – Part 3 – ADBfire

This post is a continuation of the Install Kodi on Amazon FireTV series;

Part 1 Intro
Part 2 contains the work required on the FireTV box/stick itself using the remote
Part 3 – Your here – contains the ADBfire work done on your computer
Part 4 contains the FireStarter Configuration again on the FireTV Box

Part 3

Next we move onto your laptop, and we need to install ADBfire. This should be as simple as dragging and dropping it to your applications folder if your a mac user, for Windows I expect you just run the installer.

Upon opening ADBfire you should be presented with the following view;

Select ‘New’ At the top

Now enter in a name for your FireTV and the IP address you recorded earlier, followed by ‘Save’

You should now see the name you gave it at the top left corner, so lets go ahead and click ‘Connect’

You should now see the IP address in the ‘Connected Devices’ section

Next, we want to install the Kodi APK, so select ‘Install APK’ from the main screen

Find the Kodi APK file you downloaded earlier, and choose ‘Open’

Select Yes to continue

And you should see the process begin, eventually, the transfer will complete, finish by responding with ‘OK’

We repeat this process for FireStarter, so again select ‘Install APK’ from the main screen

Find the FireStarter APK file you downloaded earlier, and choose ‘Open’

Again, Select Yes to continue

The transfer should complete a lot quicker than the kodi one did, end by clicking OK

Finally, we need to give the FireTV a reboot, select ‘File’ followed by ‘Reboot Device’,

Note: Make sure you now also quit ADBfire at this point before you continue to Part 4
